Hey friends, it has been long since we last since the cancellation of The 4400. The last we saw this science fiction on TV was on September 16, 2007. But my emotional attachment to the show never makes me forget it. The show was one of the best sci-fi shows of all times. Not only me, any fan of this show will still remember the amazing things we got to see. The very idea of supernatural powers excites me. The imagination of the creators of the show took us to a different world which we can’t even think in our dreams. Also the events which happened till the fourth season never made the viewer lose interest in the show.

I watched the show regularly right from its pilot episode. I can still recollect the events that happened in pilot episode where, a shining thing in the sky which appeared like a comet landed 4400 people on the earth at Highland beach in Washington. These people had disappeared from earth at different times starting from 1946. The fact that these people hadn’t aged since the time of their disappearance, excited me the most. The 4400 was the first of its kind show I had ever seen.

The character of Tom Baldwin (Joel Gretsch) was the most interesting one. Most of the events revolved around him. Also a number of supernatural events depicted here and there like the revival of a dead bird, enhanced the show’s appeal. While the most important element for the show to be successful, suspense was also available in plenty. Also the concept of ‘Promise city’ put every one in deep thoughts whether such a city could exist where every citizen has supernatural powers. I had never expected The 4400 to end in such an unexpected way. I still wish if I could see the end of this show.

Well, I know that many of you, The 4400 TV show fans, would be aware about the future of the show. When ‘The 4400′ returned with its fourth season, the rumors started emerging out that the show would come to an end soon. But still, we fans did have a little ray of hope, believing that at least one or two seasons would be there. But, it no way worked and the USA Network decided to bring it to an end after the season 4 finale ‘The Great Leap Forward‘, which aired on September 16, 2007. In this series finale, we saw that it was the bedlam condition in Seattle, which forced NTAC to turn towards Promise City, to have a helping hand. On the other hand, Isabelle received the order to kill Kyle Baldwin and Jordan was seen trying to escape from The Marked. And, our very favorite TV series ‘The 4400′ declared its end.

It was very surprising for the fans when they came to know that the fourth season finale was the series ender, an episode with a cliff-hanger ending served as the ultimate episode of the series, how come? Scott Peters, the writer and co-creator of series, revealed, in order to answer the questions of the crazy fans, what led them to bring series to a never-expected end. As per his statement, some very important issues, such as WGA Strike, budgetary problems, and lower-than-anticipated ratings, were responsible for such out-of-the-blue end of the show.

The fans were not ready to accept the decision of the network and they started campaigning to bring it back to TV. While doing so, they even send petitions and sunflower seeds to Bonnie Hammer, the Sci-Fi and USA Network president. But, nothing worked and no-body could convince the creators to give another chance to ‘The 4400′.

As much as ratings are concerned, the first, second and third seasons of ‘The 4400′ received good ratings, with an incessant fall in ratings in the fourth seasons. I think, all of you will agree that, of all the characters in ‘The 4400‘, Maia Skouris was the cutest one. The Canadian actress, Conchita Campbell, gave a brilliant performance and I wonder how they made a thirteen year old girl act so wonderfully. Her role in the series was very well etched for the forty two episodes she performed.
Although, she is often referred as Maia Skouris, her real name in the series is Maia Rutledge. Maia is just ten years old when she is abducted by the people from the future. Bestowed with the power to foresee the future, she is extremely valuable to the government authorities, who torture her brutally for the sake of experiments. These episodes of season one, literally brings tears to our eyes.

I also recall here, the moments of the second season, where Diana Skouris, the beautiful heroine of this series, adopts this little girl. The bonding, the attachment between the two, is so moving, it reminds me of my sister, and her daughter.

And of course, who can forget the friendships she shared with Amy and Tyler. It is said that Maia is the ‘savior of humanity’. She plays a very important role in Jordan Collier’s plan to save the world.

It’s true that Conchita gave a scintillating performance, but she really didn’t go very far in the acting world. Her Wikipedia page is very sparse and ‘Scary Movie 4′ is the only movie, I guess she has signed.

Let’s hope we see more of her and also enjoy her acting in the videos of ‘The 4400′.

After the heart breaking cancellation of “The 4400”, what I am left with is just reviewing the four seasons again and again. Along with the other protesters against cancellation, I was also the one, who was furious over the unnecessary cancellation. The worst thing is that they cancelled the show when we started expecting more from the show. Anyways, the chapter is closed now.

Today, I was watching episodes from the season one once again. Then the thought hit my mind that I haven’t seen Joel Gretsch since long. I think cancellation affected him the most. After this show he never got any big role. In “The 4400”, he was like a thread of the events. We come to know about the reality of the 4400 missing people and the secret behind their powers, through him. I don’t think he has got that powerful role ever again. I have just seen him playing recurring characters in a few popular TV shows.

He appeared in a few episodes of “CSI- Miami”, “NCIS” and “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”. Yes! His role in “Saving Grace” can be called a little more important than his other appearances. But still I never found him in lead role in any other series, although he has worked with Steven Spielberg‘s sci-fi mini series “Taken” in 2002 before landing into “The 4400”.

The truth is that I liked his work on “The 4400” to that extent that even if he will work in any other series, I’ll still find his Tom Baldwin’s role as the best. In the beginning his role had a grey shade, as he was acting against the people, back from future. Their powers were irritating him, but steadily he started having faith in them. He realized that they too are helpless to control their newly gained powers. Now, he raised a helping hand to those even who were intended to misuse their powers. For example Collier in season two.

In season three, his role got more exciting as he also gave a visit to future time zone and conversed with the future representative. It was then that the series got weirder. That season is just irresistible for me. Have a look and you will know.

Today I am at home and don’t have much work to do. So its time for watching the TV shows. You know, I like watching the old TV shows which have now jumped off the screen, as the new ones I can get on television. So today I am feeling like watch some again. So I came to this site and chosen the 4400 episodes from the list. To be very honest I was not the regular viewer of the show when it was on air, because I usually forget the day of its appearance and one will find me asking my friends next day that oh that episode gone? So this site is best place for my kind of people who can’t go with the fixed timings of the TV channels. I love this site, as I can download any of the episodes I like whenever I want it.

So today I downloaded the entire first season of the 4400. Though I had seen a few episodes of this before and have seen rest of the seasons too. But this one is my most favorite. Whenever I watch it, I feel like I am watching a suspense thriller movie. In the pilot episode, many people disappear in the different time zones from the different places, and after some time all those missing people reappear carrying super powers. well I was surprised with the imagination of the writer that he made huge number of 4400 people disappear from the world and all holding new powers, although a few appeared on the show. But the story line is amazing. I’ve watched the pilot episode for many times.

The filming and special effects are marvelous on the show. Besides this I also like the last episode of the first season, that’s ‘White Light’ where Kyle reveals long term mystery of the first season. He tells that all the missing people were taken into the future time zone and attained super powers over there. I love that scene where light comes out from Kyle’s body. The whole first season is amazing. Check out guys.
